Most well-known airline brands in the United States 2023

The airline industry worldwide is finally resuming to normalcy after suffering widespread disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Same is the case in the United States where the travel industry was brought to a standstill as a result of the government-imposed travel restrictions. This seems to be good news for the U.S. airline industry which is one of the biggest air travel markets worldwide.

When it comes to the most well-known airlines in the United States, American Airlines tops the chart. The Texas based airline brand is recognized by 86 percent of the respondents in the U.S., making it the leading airline in the U.S. based on brand awareness. The second spot on this list is taken by Delta Air Lines with 84 percent brand awreness, followed by United Airlines with an awareness of 83 percent respectively. Southwest Airlines comes in fourth place.

For this study, brand awareness was surveyed employing the concept of aided brand recognition, showing respondents both the brand's logo and the written brand name.
