Factors that prompted saving for retirement in France 2021

When working and retired French adults were asked in the beginning of 2021 what prompted them to start saving for retirement, the largest share of respondents stated that they had no particular reason for starting. A total of 33 percent of individuals reported this, followed by 21 percent of individuals who reported starting to save for retirement after turning a certain age. The share of people that reported starting to save for retirement after getting their first job stood at six percent as of 2021.
