According to a survey conducted in 2023, Democrats were found more likely than Republicans to say that different family arrangements apart from a husband and a wife raising children together were completely or somewhat acceptable in the United States. While 72 percent of Democrats agreed that an unmarried gay or lesbian couple with children was either completely or somewhat acceptable, only 35 percent of surveyed Republicans shared this belief.
