Ireland: incidence rate of match injuries in women's amateur rugby union 2017-2023
In the 2022/23 season, the most common match injury among amateur female rugby union players in Ireland was ankle sprains, with an incidence rate of 4.3 per one thousand hours played. Based on figures stretching back to 2017/18, this was the first time concussions were not the most frequent injury, ranking as the second most frequent in the 2022/23 season.
