Demographics of Ghana- statistics & facts
As of 2022, Ghana had a population of over 33 million, comprising approximately 16.8 million women and 16.7 million men. This represented a population growth of about 1.9 percent from the previous year. Moreover, as of 2023, while children aged 14 years or younger reached over 12.43 million, people between the ages of 15 and 24 as well as between 25 and 64 years added up to roughly 6.5 million and 13.7 million, respectively.
Furthermore, urban areas in the country are more concentrated than rural ones.
In terms of mortality in Ghana, while the rate stood at 7.63 deaths per 1,000 inhabitants as of 2021, it reached 32.6 per thousand live births among all infants. As of 2018, 57.2 percent of households owned radios, while 60.4 percent of them owned televisions.

Households in Ghana mostly consist of at least one child under the age of 18, closely followed by those with at least one female between the ages of 15 and 49 years.
