Their presence within offices and households has increased year by year, making them one of the most important markets for the technology industry. In general, the PC market in the UK has performed well, reaching 4.5 billion British pounds in 2022, although forecasts suggest the market is likely to decline to around the four billion British pound mark in the coming years.

Apple's range of MacBook products sits within the higher price bracket of PCs available on the market, with MacBook Air prices starting from 999 British pounds, while MacBook Pro prices begin at 1,349 British pounds. Apple devices also prove extremely popular among tablet owners in the UK, with the iPad taking up half of the market. In order to maintain their market shares, PC vendors will need to ride out the troubling economic period. Manufacturers are likely to focus on software and service provisions while the market recovers, before introducing hardware innovations at a time when purchasing intent returns to a normal level.
