Wildberries is one of the fastest-growing online stores in Russia, reporting to have increased its sales value on the internet by 73 percent in 2023. Consequently, Wildberries ranks first by revenue among marketplaces in the country. Furthermore, with a gross merchandise revenue (GMV) of nearly 24 billion U.S. dollars, it was among the 20 leading online marketplaces worldwide.

Wildberries works directly with manufacturers and official distributors that assort their products in the online store. The marketplace earns a commission from each transaction performed on its platform. As of December 2023, Wildberries counted around 300,000 active sellers, and overall in that year, it processed the largest number of orders among e-commerce websites in Russia, at roughly three million. In March 2023, Wildberries caught media attention in Russia after employees of pickup points allegedly went on a strike and filed lawsuits against the company. In 2023, Wildberries generated a revenue of 613.7 million U.S. dollars in the country, up 198 percent from the previous year. The largest share of that revenue came from apparel and clothing. With a presence in most countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the platform is popular among sellers, with nearly 40,500 Kazakhstani entrepreneurs registered in the first half of 2023.In the two decades of its existence, Wildberries has achieved tremendous growth in Russia and several neighboring markets.
