Information security industry sales in South Korea 2016-2023

In 2023, the total sales of the information security industry in South Korea reached around 16.83 trillion South Korean won, exceeding the expected growth from the previous year. The information security sector consists of cyber information security as well as physical information security. Of those, physical information security sales constituted the majority of sales, totaling more than 10.6 trillion South Korean won.

 Planned information security purchases

Among the products in information security with the highest planned spending, network security had the highest-grossing planned purchase amount. That year, the most sought-after information security services were maintenance services of products and services already in place, rather than monitoring or consulting services.

What has been done at companies to prevent cyberattacks?

Aside from purchasing information security products and services, conducting security training among employees was a common measure against cybersecurity attacks, as almost one in five companies stated to have taken that action. According to the same survey, more than two-thirds of companies that are members of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) had used cybersecurity inspection services to evaluate the risk at their company.
