Crude oil reserves in Trinidad and Tobago have remained stable at around 241 million barrels since 2020. Nevertheless, this represents a decrease of nearly 70 percent in comparison to previous years, when the Caribbean islands' reserves totaled 723 million barrels. In 2023, Trinidad and Tobago's crude oil production exceeded that of Peru, despite having around one quarter of the South American country's proven reserves.
