In 2023, Brazil was the largest crude oil producing country in Latin American and the Caribbean, with an average output of over 3.4 million barrels per day. Mexico followed, with around 1.9 million daily barrels. Meanwhile, Venezuela trailed in fourth, with some 751 thousand barrels per day, despite having by far the largest crude oil reserves in the region.
