Solar photovoltaics capacity per inhabitant in Germany 2017-2023
Germany had a solar photovoltaic capacity of 974.3 watts per inhabitant in 2023. In the period of consideration, figures increased by almost 462 watts per inhabitant. The country added over 14 gigawatts of photovoltaic capacity in the same year.
Germany is amongst the dominant European Union members in the solar photovoltaic market, and had a cumulative capacity of 67.4 gigawatts in 2022, far higher than any other nation in the EU. It also had the highest electricity production volume.
