This chart shows the share of contributions associated with supplementary retirement in all pension plans in France during the period 2010 to 2020. The supplementary pension covers the optional retirement schemes offered by certain companies to their employees. In 2020, the share of contributions for the supplementary pension was of 5.1 percent compared to the total contributions for the pension plans.

The source adds the following information: "As the scope of the DREES supplementary pension survey is exhaustive, the results are no longer calibrated to the federations' data. This leads to a break in the series between 2017 and 2018."
