This statistic presents the results of a survey on the main reasons for buying food products directly from local producers and/or farmers in Italy as of September 2017. According to the survey results, for 75 percent of female respondents and 66 percent of their male counterparts the high quality of the food represented the leading reason. Moreover, some 49 percent of men and 37 percent of women were buying from local growers because of the availability of local products.
