The importance of summer holiday in China's box office revenue can not be overlooked. In 2023, the holiday season contributed almost 38 percent of the total cinema ticket sales, which was seven percentage points higher than the previous year. Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year, was the second exciting period with 12 percent share of annual box office gross.
