During a January 2019 survey, 50 percent of responding U.S. marketers said the main challenge of using influencer marketing was spotting fake followers and inauthentic engagement. Rising influencer costs were a serious issue for 38 percent of marketers, and moving influencer efforts in-house was a challenge to 12 percent of respondents.
