The export of coffee, tea, maté and spices from the Netherlands was valued around 1.25 billion euros in 2021 – the highest value in at least a decade. Germany was not just the second-largest supplier of products of this category, it was also the main destination for Dutch exports of the same kind. A large part of the Dutch export of coffee, tea, maté and spices was destined for other European countries. Without exception, the ten largest export partners for coffee, tea, maté and spices were all European.
Between 2013 and 2019, the Netherlands exported more saffron than it imported. In 2020 however, it was the other way around.
