Before its shutting down in 2019, Google Plus was used by Italian account holders to communicate with their bank. However, a survey conducted in March 2018 showed that only two percent of account holders used to request assistance to the bank through Google Plus. In Italy, three percent of the respondents received promotional messages about their bank on Google Plus.
