Gotland is, by far, the largest island in Sweden, with a total area of nearly 300,000 hectares. Ă–land is the second largest island, its size amounting to 134,700 hectares. Both are located in the Baltic Sea. Approximately three percent of Sweden's total land area consists of islands.
