Net capacity of solar PV installed in Germany 2009-2019

Germany added 3.94 gigawatts worth of solar photovoltaic capacity in 2019. It was the fifth year in a row that net capacity additions had increased and the first time since 2013 that figures exceeded three gigawatts. The greatest growth in annual capacity was recorded in 2011, at 7.91 gigawatts. As of 2018, solar PV output per capita amounts to 546.9 watts per inhabitant.
