Nearly 14.12 million cars within the French vehicle fleet had the yellow Crit'Air 2 sticker in 2023, making this the most common air quality certificate on French roads. The purple Crit'Air 1 sticker was the second most popular type, with approximately 11.85 million cars using this sticker. In contrast, the share of orange Crit'Air 3 sticker—intended for petrol cars meeting the European emission standards Euro 2 and Euro 3 and for diesel cars meeting the Euro 4 standars—has been steadily decreasing since 2011.
