France: heavy commercial vehicle fleet by propulsion type 2022
In 2022, around over 606,800 medium and heavy commercial vehicles registered in France had a diesel internal combustion engine, making diesel the most popular fuel type for heavy vehicles in the country. Natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas, second in terms of popularity, only powered nearly 8,700 vehicles that same year. Diesel internal combustion engines are by far France's favorite propulsion type, also holding the largest share of the light utility vehicle and passenger car fleets.
