In 2021, Grupo Bimbo had the highest sales, after pirvate labels, of approximately 127 million U.S. dollars. After private label, Grupo Bimbo has also been the leading cake supplier .

Cake in the United States

Whether it’s a birthday party, a wedding, a baby shower, or a sporting event, Americans can find an excuse to incorporate a cake into any sort of occasion. In the United States, cakes are readily available in grocery stores, specialty bakeries, or in the form of boxed cake mix which can be whipped up and put in the oven without much fuss. In 2018, total sales of cake in the United States amounted to 17.67 billion U.S. dollars, and is expected to reach about 20.11 billion U.S. dollars in sales by 2022.

Leading Cake Mixes

If one is not willing to put in the time and effort to make a cake from scratch, cake mix is a very convenient and affordable alternative. Grocery stores often carry many different brands of boxed cake mix as well as a wide variety of cake flavors and textures. The top brand of cake mix in the United States in terms of unit sales is Betty Crocker Supermoist, which sold 109.5 million boxes in 2015.
