In 2019, Italians used electric scooters to move fast around the city in an environmentally friendly way, according to a survey by YouGov. In fact, half of Italians stated that moving quickly around the city and reducing emissions were good reasons for renting an electric scooter. However, only eight percent of respondents believed that e-scooters were a safe mode of transport.
The question was phrased by the source as follows: "Per quali motivi prenderesti a noleggio il monopattino elettrico?".
