Audiobook listeners in the U.S. 2018-2021, by gender
In 2021, 25 percent of women responding to a survey held in the United States reported that they had listened to an audiobook in the last year, compared to 22 percent of male respondents who said the same. The share of women listening to audiobooks was higher than that of their male counterparts in 2019 and 2021, whereas in 2018 men were marginally more likely to have engaged with the format.
