In 2023, Nestlé was the highest-valued Swiss brand worldwide, with a brand value of 21.3 billion Swiss francs. Rolex ranked second with approximately 10.2 billion Swiss francs.

Nestlé: a global Swiss brand

Founded in the Vaud Canton in Switzerland in 1867, Nestlé ranked among the largest companies worldwide by market capitalization in 2023. To maintain this position, the fast-moving consumer goods giant spent heavily on marketing in 2022. That year, Nestlé Group’s global marketing and administration expenses stood at 16.85 billion Swiss francs.

Another global phenomenon: Rolex

Another Swiss brand that stands out globally is Rolex, the world-renowned manufacturer of luxury watches and watch components. Established in 1905, the Geneva-based watch manufacturer had the highest market share worldwide among other Swiss watch brands such as Omega, Cartier watches, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piquet, and Longines in 2022. According to a survey conducted by Statista in 2022, brand awareness of Rolex in the United States amounted to 87 percent. According to the same study, 23 percent of respondents owned a Rolex watch in the U.S. that year.
