Monthly mobile gaming revenue in China 2021-2024

China is one of the largest markets for mobile games. In April 2024, the sales revenue of mobile games amounted to 16 billion yuan, representing a 1.93 percent increase compared to the previous month. 

Domestic market

For many years, the domestic market accounted for over 70 percent of the revenue generated by China’s mobile gaming industry. In the context of the overall gaming industry of China, the share of sales revenue earned within the mobile games market shot up to over 70 percent since 2020. However, a decline in the annual market growth rate was recorded in 2022.

Overseas context

Meanwhile, China’s overseas market of mobile games also experienced a decline in its annual growth rate. United States, Japan, and South Korea were the major overseas markets for Chinese homegrown mobile games.
