The timeline presents a distribution of video on demand revenue worldwide by source and region in 2015. In the Asia Pacific region, online video advertising made 48 percent of the VoD revenue. North America accounted for 32 percent of OTT SVoD revenues worldwide in 2015. In the same year, there were approximately 163 million SVoD households worldwide, a large increase from 21 million in 2010. The figure is forecast to rise further to 383 million by 2021. In 2015, SVoD revenue reached 12.38 billion U.S. dollars worldwide and it, too, is expected to more than double to 26.79 billion U.S. dollars in 2020.
