Views on government responsibility for provision of healthcare in the U.S. 2000-2023
In the years surveyed between 2000 and 2023, Americans' responses on whether or not the U.S. federal government should be responsible for ensuring that all Americans have health coverage was rather polarized and varied. In November 2023, 59 percent of U.S. adults said that the government should be responsible, compared to the highest peak in 2016 where 69 percent said so.
