Fire causes a significant amount of damage in the United States each year, leading to expensive costs. In 2021, fires caused about 44.2 billion U.S. dollars worth of property damage in the country. This is a significant increase from 1990 levels, when about 9.5 billion U.S. dollars worth of property damage was done by fire.
