Consumer spending on home entertainment in the United States reached a record 42.97 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, up by nearly 17 percent from the previous year. Spending on physical rentals continued to decrease, whilst digital formats saw an increase. SVOD subscription expenditure grew by around seven billion U.S. dollars year-on-year.
