Category performance

Frozen dessert production in the United States
Between 2017 and 2018, regular ice cream production in the United States dropped off steeply, from around 760 thousand gallons to just under 500 thousand gallons. Today, production has increased slightly. In 2021, California produced some 57,519 gallons of regular ice cream while the other 49 states generated about 477,366 gallons. Frozen yogurt had a much higher production volume in the United States than regular ice cream, at 45.6 million gallons.
