A 2024 survey about the consumption of micro-dramas in China highlighted that nine out of ten respondents had watched at least one ultra-short TV drama online. A non-trivial 30 percent had consumed over 10 series. There was a clear preference for free shows.
Average number of online micro-dramas consumed among respondents in China as of June 2024
Female respondents accounted for 60.8 percent. Respondents who were born between 2000 and 2009 accounted for 37.6 percent, the highest among other age groups. About 81.9 percent of respondents possessed a higher education level.
