As of February 2024, 41 percent of all surveyed public school leaders were either extremely or moderately concerned about students meeting academic standards in the United States. In comparison, 54 percent of public school leaders located in high poverty neighborhoods and 57 percent of leaders from public schools where students of color made up 75 percent or more of the student population also shared this concern.
