The total investments made by Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) steadily increased over the five-year period. Total investments grew from 38.8 billion U.S. in 2019, reaching over 82 billion U.S. dollars by 2022. Abu Dhabi’s ADIA, Mubadala and ADQ, Saudi’s PIF and Qatar’s QIA commonly referred to as the "Oil Five" have grown substantially in recent years. Total GCC SWF investment stood at roughly 55 billion U.S. dollars in the third quarter of 2024, these five funds accounted for the vast majority of the region's total investment.
