In February 2024, mobile game app usage soared in China, as people usually have more leisure time and seek entertainment while celebrating the Chinese New Year. The number of app sessions increased significantly to 257.6 times in that month, or almost nine times per day. Nonetheless, the overall time spent per user was slightly down. This reflects the limited effects of special in-game events and promotions by game developers to entice users to engage with their apps.
