During a late 2023 survey in the United States, approximately 43 percent of responding adults said they had watched a TV commercial that caused them to buy a product, while 41 percent reported seeing or hearing an advertisement on social media that led them to make a purchase. However, the shares varied depending on the interviewees' age group. Around 62 percent of Gen Zers shopped after seeing a social ad, while 43 percent of millennials did so after watching a TV commercial.
