In a 2024 survey among Chinese Generation Z users, 60 percent of respondents reported having used artificial intelligence (AI) features on social media apps, such as AI chatbots. The same survey revealed that almost a third of respondents expressed willingness to make friends with virtual human beings that are generated by AI, reflecting their openness to embrace the technology.
