Italians' political engagement by occupation 2023
In 2023, Italians with regular employment were the ones more actively engaged in politics, with 2.7 million individuals who watched a debate and more than 800,000 people participating in a mass meeting. Moreover, retired workers proved a high political participation, as around 1.7 million pensioners listened to a political talk and 262,000 attended to a mass-gathering. However, they have not been as involved as students in taking part in a march, joined by 277,000 undergraduates compared to 217,000 retired people. Unemployed individuals without work experience were the least engaged in political activities, with only 83,000 Italians watching a debate and 29,000 joining a mass-meeting.
