According to a survey conducted in 2023, 37 percent of teenagers in the United States said that they felt neither comfortable nor uncomfortable when topics related to sexual orientation and gender identity came up in class. In comparison, 33 percent said that they felt very or somewhat uncomfortable and 29 percent said that they felt very or somewhat comfortable when such topics came up in class.
