Cultured meat, grown from cell cultures, finds a skeptical audience in the United States. About half of respondents in the U.S. said, in a 2023 survey, that they are not very likely or not likely at all to try cultured meat should it become available for purchase.

The survey question was phrased as follows: "New research and technologies have made it possible to produce meat grown using cells that come from animals, without the need to raise or kill live animals. If this meat grown using cells from animals becomes available to purchase in the United States, how likely are you to try it?"
