Share of Americans with at least 25,000 U.S. dollars in student debt 2022, by race
According to a survey conducted in 2022, Black borrowers were more likely to carry a high student loan debt balance in the United States, with 57 percent of Black borrowers having at least 25,000 U.S. dollars in student loan debt from their own education. In comparison, 45 percent of White borrowers and 39 percent of Hispanic borrowers had at least 25,000 U.S. dollars in student debt in 2022.
