In 2023, 86 percent of those surveyed said that they felt a sense of belonging in Australia. 82 percent said they felt pride in the Australian way of life and culture in 2023, five percent less than the response in 2018.

The survey questions were as follows: "To what extent do you have a sense of belonging in Australia?" and "To what extent do you take pride in the Australian way of life and culture?".
The percentages are based on the total of those who responded 'to a great extent' and 'to a moderate extent'.
