As of June 2023, internet users in India were more supportive of data localization than users in other countries, with 73 percent stating so. Chinese internet users ranked second, with 57 percent favoring data localization. Overall, 44 percent of the respondents worldwide thought data localization by the government was a good idea, while 34 percent were against it.
