Annual adoption of prepaid cards or vouchers in Hungary 2020-2024
The share of respondents using prepaid cards at POS (Point-of-Sale) in Hungary decreased by one percentage point between 2020 and 2024. This is according to two different questions asked throughout multiple surveys from Statista's Consumer Insights. The numbers shown here refer to a rolling 12-month share of respondents who indicated they used either prepaid cards or a voucher in a brick and mortar shop or whilst shopping online. In 2020, the share of respondents using prepaid cards and/or vouchers at POS (Point-of-Sale) stood at 13 percent, which increased to 14 percent in 2023. Moreover, during the same period, the share of respondents using vouchers for online payments rose by three percentage points.
