When shopping for goods online, it is common for consumers to pull out of a transaction, leaving the order incomplete: In the first quarter of 2024, around four in five baskets created on tablets in the United States did not result in a completed order. However, with a rate of 85 percent that quarter, cart abandonment was most common among shoppers using mobile devices.
