As of June 2024, there were roughly 25 gigawatts of wind power under construction in Europe. Northern European countries accounted for the largest share of this capacity, with 15.4 gigawatts. Europe had also over 400 gigawatts of wind in the pre-construction stage, and almost 230 additional gigawatts had been announced.
