As of mid-October 2022, roughly 5.4 terawatts of renewable power had been targeted worldwide for 2030. Asia accounted for the largest share of targeted capacity, at 2.6 terawatts, almost half of the global targets. Europe followed with almost 1.3 terawatts of targeted capacity. As of the end of 2022, the renewable energy capacity installed worldwide stood at 3.4 terawatts.
