The overall share of renewables in the European Union's final energy consumption reached 23 percent in 2022. Electricity had the highest renewable share at some 41.2 percent, followed by heating and cooling at 24.9 percent. The transportation sector had the lowest share of renewables in the European Union, with only 9.6 percent.
