User-generated content (UGC) can impact consumers in various ways. According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in China in August 2023, around two-thirds of respondents stated that they used UGC mostly to identify trending products. Following this were answers saying that the content improves confidence in making purchases and that it is more interesting than the content created by brands.
