Characteristics of U.S. congregations by race 2020
In 2020, 41 percent of congregations in the United States that were multiracial, meaning they had 20 percent or more of participants who were not part of the dominant racial group in that religious community, experienced five percent or more growth in five years. In comparison, 33 percent of congregations that were majority White shared this characteristic.
